What Ma's government has achieved to date should, of course, be open to public judgement and criticisms. I find its constant attempts to disengage the public (e.g. resistance to referendums) in its policies to be deceitful and, frankly, a betrayal to ideals of democracy.traversohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17312454810335052823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29099853.post-46596780696130179552011-11-25T16:58:37.507+08:002011-11-25T16:58:37.507+08:00We can't tell yet if Ma Ying-jeou will be re-e...We can't tell yet if Ma Ying-jeou will be re-elected, or if Tsai Ing-wen will replace him. The people of Taiwan will decide if the KMT "betrayed" them, or if the KMT will continue to be their choice.

Some more respect for the people of Taiwan and their choices - either way - would be in order. A democracy where one of the two main competing parties is continuously being referred to as "traitors" will inevitably suffer.justrecentlyhttp://justrecently.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29099853.post-75960610396257123702011-11-25T16:39:44.538+08:002011-11-25T16:39:44.538+08:00Must agree with Michael above: From ECFA to 't...Must agree with Michael above: From ECFA to 'the Dreamer' musical, Ma's government has betrayed Taiwanese people on so many occasions and levels that they have all but lost their credibility as the state's ruler. I wouldn't put it past them to carry out plots both shifty and underhanded.traversohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17312454810335052823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29099853.post-14943341978863051262011-11-25T07:46:54.585+08:002011-11-25T07:46:54.585+08:00That's not what worries me. Given that Taiwan has very influential supporters on Capitol Hill, I'll take my bet one step further: it won't happen.justrecentlyhttp://justrecently.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
